Happy New Year!

Posted on

Most of us are exhausted or maybe even hungover so I will keep this short and sweet.

First, Happy New Year! May this be a wonderful and fruitful year for all of us.
Now that I have gotten the niceties out of the way, have you thought about your resolutions? You know, those things that we all say we are going to do and never do. “This year will be different.” “I will keep my resolutions this time.” “I am older and wiser, that will make a difference.” Sound familiar? Let’s face it, we all have the best intentions but what is really different today than last week, last month or last year? Nothing. That is the problem. We expect that the world will change so that we can change. Let me be clear, THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN.
Here is the reality, we have to change. In spite of our jobs, our schedules, our family or our athletic abilities, WE HAVE TO CHANGE, NOT THE WORLD. We have to change the way we see food, look at exercise, see our coworkers, speak, think and act.
This is the only way we will keep our resolutions. This is the ony way to make life change happen. We have to have the determination to be different. Push yourself. Put yourself first. Remind yourself that you are worth whatever it is that you are doing to make your life better.
I said I would keep this short so let me conclude with this thought. Change is not easy. It is not supposed to be. But you are worth being the best you you can be. Now, what will you do to be the best you can be in 2012?
I will be posting my resolutions over the next many days and would love to know yours. Please post them below so we can all encourage one another.
And again, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
