Daniel Fast – Day 4 and 5, quickie overview

The last 2 days have been a blur but here are the highlights…

Food has consisted of apples, bananas, lots of leftover Pumpkin-Black Bean soup, a few bites of rice and beans at work (not good for all sorts of reasons) and a small cheat evening with friends.

The cheat night is something that we knew was going to happen sooner or later. We have too many friends that love to invite us to dinner or events, especially at Disney. Last night was the chance to hang out with an awesome couple from up north named Karen and Wayne. They invited us to the Big River Grill and Brewery at Disney’s Boardwalk. We had never been there so we were excited and sad at the same time. The menu is amazing! That being said, we cheated a little bit by sharing a beer flight and a cheesy crab dip appetizer but my entree was a garden salad and a side of green beans and carrots. Drank lots of water and felt good about our choices. We did end up at a fantastic Disney lounge later and I had one cocktail.

I say all this to say that we all have choices. Today is another day and I will be responsible for my choices. This fast and these weeks are between me and God and my body. I will do what I need to do to be obedient and healthy but there is no need to be rude to our ever gracious friends or to cause uncomfortable moments over a silly menu. I am hoping to turn this into a lifestyle but I refuse to be the obnoxious person at the party complaining that there is nothing to eat or telling all my friends that what they consume is poison. It is just not worth it.

Exercise – None on Thursday but I did run 3.18 miles in 40:25 yesterday. Not where I would like to be but I am still moving. Yeah!!

Weight – 150 (3.8 pounds down) So close to being a woman in the 140’s I can taste it.

    Our training has been nill this week because we’ve all had the flu. Been very good for the diet though. I’m living baked potatoes and crackers, though I was brave and had some fruit this morning. 🙂
